Crypto News | Standard Chartered brings BTC and ETH spot trading to the UAE
Standard Chartered has launched a Bitcoin and Ether spot-trading service in the United Arab Emirates for eligible institutional clients. The service is integrated into the bank’s existing electronic channels and complements its digital-asset custody offering already available in the country.
Why it matters
The news does not mean Bitcoin or Ether suddenly became less risky. It does, however, show that traditional banking infrastructure is creating increasingly direct channels for digital assets, with procedures, custody, and controls designed for professional investors.
The Crypto Mentor view
When a major bank enters the sector, we look at the change in infrastructure before looking at price. Institutional adoption and the investment performance of a cryptocurrency are two different things.
