USDG launches on Arbitrum as DAO proposal seeks 100 million ARB for adoption

Global Dollar (USDG), the Paxos-issued stablecoin, became available natively on Arbitrum One on October 6, 2026. Arbitrum also joined the Global Dollar Network, the partner ecosystem built around the distribution and use of USDG.

Paxos documentation lists the USDG contract on Arbitrum mainnet. Initial integrations announced around the launch include DeFi protocols such as Fluid, Morpho, GMX and Maple. Kraken is expected to support deposits and withdrawals, while Stargate is listed for cross-chain transfers.

A separate Arbitrum governance proposal asks the DAO to treat USDG as a strategic initiative and add 100 million ARB to the DRIP program budget to support liquidity, integrations and incentives. It is important to distinguish the two developments: the USDG launch is live, while the additional 100 million ARB allocation is still a proposal and has not been approved.

The Global Dollar Network model shares part of the economics generated by stablecoin reserves with partners that help distribute the asset. For Arbitrum, that could create a stronger link between stablecoin activity and ecosystem funding, but actual adoption and the final governance outcome remain uncertain.
