Crypto Buzz: Ethereum up 71% in Q3, Bitcoin up 44% — figures still provisional

Ethereum and Bitcoin are heading toward an unusually strong third quarter, but the figures are not final. A report published on September 27, based on CoinGlass data through September 26, put ETH at approximately 71% up for the quarter and BTC at around 44% up.

The comparison has attracted attention because, in that snapshot, Ethereum would surpass its previous third-quarter record while Bitcoin would register one of its strongest recent third quarters. September is not over yet, so both the percentages and historical rankings may change.

Sunday's spot market looked less forceful. At the time of the original report's check on September 27, Bitcoin was trading around $84,000–$85,000 and Ether near $2,690. That slowdown does not erase the quarterly performance, but accumulated gains and short-term momentum are different measures.

The buzz is about the unusual quarterly statistics and the comparison between BTC and ETH, not a certainty about the fourth quarter. ETF inflows, spot volume, and market resilience after quarterly options expiry are also being discussed as possible supporting factors, but none proves that the rally will continue.

What to watch without chasing the noise: the quarter's final close, volume trends, whether gains are concentrated in a few assets, and any increase in derivatives leverage. A historic result describes the past; it is not a forecast.
