Crypto Buzz: ZetaChain approves move to Solana, but migration is not yet operational

Crypto Buzz follows narratives and community sentiment; it is not a price forecast. ZetaChain governance approved Proposal 68 on September 20, 2026, preparing a possible migration of ZETA to Solana and a future shutdown of the current Layer 1.
What the vote approved
The proposal passed with 99.4% voting in favor and 58% participation, above the 40% quorum. Votes against and abstentions each represented about 0.3%. The plan would convert native ZETA to an SPL token on Solana at a 1:1 ratio, keeping the same ticker and total supply.
What has not happened yet
The approval did not set an immediate migration date, and the existing network continues to operate. A second governance proposal is still required to define the snapshot, claim process, exchange coordination and the final shutdown of the Layer 1. Staking therefore continues for now.
Why the community is watching
The debate reflects wider questions about the cost and complexity of maintaining an independent Layer 1, the security model of migrated assets and the concentration of developers on larger ecosystems. ZetaChain has also highlighted a stronger focus on Anuma, its private-AI application.
Interpretation
Governance approval is neither automatically bullish nor bearish. The practical effect depends on the final migration design, execution, exchange support and user adoption.
