Crypto Safe is the security hub of Crypto Mentor. This first checklist brings together ten checks to make before connecting a wallet, sending crypto, following a link or trusting an online contact.

The 10-point Crypto Safe checklist

  1. Check the website domain letter by letter before entering credentials.

  2. Never share a seed phrase, private key or authentication code, even with someone claiming to be support.

  3. Do not act under pressure: “today only,” “last place” and “you must do it now” are warning signs worth treating cautiously.

  4. Be skeptical of guaranteed returns, certain profits or systems presented as risk-free.

  5. Verify official social profiles by starting from the official website, not from links received in private messages.

  6. Before sending a significant amount, make a small test transaction when possible.

  7. Check the first and last characters of a wallet address even after pasting it, to reduce clipboard-malware risk.

  8. When possible, keep the device or profile used for sensitive operations separate from higher-risk activity.

  9. Keep your operating system, browser, wallet and two-factor authentication up to date; avoid pirated software and unknown extensions.

  10. If something does not look right, do not sign the transaction. Stopping is cheaper than trying to recover funds after a mistake.

Three rules to remember

Nobody needs to know your seed phrase. Legitimate support does not need your private keys. Blockchain transactions can be irreversible, so checking before acting is part of the transaction—not wasted time.

Crypto Safe will grow with dedicated guides on phishing, fake exchanges, rug pulls, wallet approvals and checks to make before connecting to decentralized applications.
