Nasdaq invests $100 million in Kraken as tokenized-stock race grows
Nasdaq announced on September 10 a $100 million investment in Payward, the parent company of Kraken. The deal strengthens a collaboration focused on infrastructure for tokenized-stock trading, an area where traditional finance and blockchain technology are increasingly converging. A major regulated-market operator taking a direct stake in Kraken’s parent company is a concrete sign of institutional interest in tokenization. The stated goal is to develop infrastructure that can connect traditional financial instruments with blockchain-based networks. That does not mean tokenized shares are already identical to shares bought through a traditional broker. Product structure, custody, regulation and investor rights can differ and need to be checked case by case. Main source: Reuters, September 10, 2026. Educational content only; not financial advice.
