Start from Zero | The Crypto Mentor Path in 7 Steps
Updated: Oct 12
If you are starting from zero, this is the entry point to Crypto Mentor. The path is designed to teach one idea at a time: foundations first, security next, then how to read information and risk correctly.
STEP 1 — Understand Bitcoin
Start with the simplest question: what is Bitcoin, and why is it different from traditional digital money?

STEP 2 — Understand blockchain
A blockchain is a shared ledger that allows a network to verify and preserve transactions without relying on one central database.

STEP 3 — Wallets and seed phrases
Before thinking about buying crypto, understand how control works and why a seed phrase must never be shared with anyone.
STEP 4 — Exchanges: CEX and DEX
Exchanges are used to trade digital assets, but a centralized exchange and a decentralized exchange work very differently.
STEP 5 — Security and scams
The Crypto Mentor rule is simple: protection comes before returns. Learn to recognize pressure, guaranteed promises, fake support and credential requests.

STEP 6 — Read numbers critically
Price alone tells you very little. Market capitalization is a useful first concept, but it must be understood with its limitations.

STEP 7 — Make informed decisions
Now you can begin building a method: study, verify sources, define risk and never use money needed for everyday life.
Mini quiz — check your understanding
1. Should you give your seed phrase to technical support if they need it to recover your wallet?
Answer: no. A seed phrase can restore wallet access and must not be shared.
2. Does holding a token on an exchange always mean you directly control its private keys?
Answer: no. In a custodial service, the platform may control the keys.
3. Is a crypto asset with a very low unit price automatically a better value?
Answer: no. Unit price alone is not enough without supply, market cap, liquidity and context.
When these three answers feel natural, you already have a stronger foundation than someone entering the market by chasing price alone.
